Safety Shield is the most advanced artificial intelligence (AI) human form recognition safety system on the market. It can be fitted to any type of plant, for industries such as construction, rail, mining, demolition and waste.
A camera-based collision avoidance system, Safety Shield uses AI to identify people who are in the danger zone of moving plant and machinery. Unlike other less effective systems on the market, Safety Shield identifies only the human form in the designated detection zone and will only alert the operator if a collision with a pedestrian or vulnerable site personnel is imminent.
Digital Thumbs up
The thumbs up procedure is widely adopted across the construction industry and gives personnel the ability to safely communicate with the machine operator. When someone wants to approach the machine, they give a thumbs up gesture from a safe distance to the operator. Once the operator has seen the thumbs up signal, they will bring this machine to a controlled stop.
The technology will also inform personnel where to approach safely, with the LED shield highlighting the area of direct vision for the operator. Our ultimate goal with this new safety feature is to reduce the fatal risk of people plant interface entirely, creating injury-free worksites where everyone goes home safely, every day.
