M O’Brien group amongst first Companies to invest in new JCB Electric excavators

The new electric 1.9t excavators due for delivery in Spring 2019 from Watling JCB as part of a multi unit order and are the first fully electric excavators to be released in the UK. The groundbreaking machine will help us and our clients work towards lower emissions. The 19C-1 E-TEC is aimed at users working inside buildings and in emissions-sensitive environments. For example, it allows contractors to operate in tunnels and underground with zero exhaust emissions and a far lower noise level at just 7db.

Boasting the same productivity levels associated with a conventional machine and a working time of four hours at 100% utilisation, which from existing telematics shows to be enough for a typical full working shift. The machine is available with a number of charging options, 110v charging would require a 12 hour charging session from empty to full whilst a 230v session would take 8 hours to reach peak from empty. A faster charge option is available.

Working closely with clients we will be able to advise of where these machines can be best used and where they will bring the most value to their projects. Working on a green field project where a larger machine could be more productive isn’t going to be the market, whereas indoors, underground, or near emission sensitive areas will notice significant benefits from working with this machine. M O’Brien always wants to advise its customers on the best value option for them and their stakeholders.
